Abstract
Digital beamforming algorithms are used for spatial filtering which results in reduction of interference and improvement of directivity for spatial separation of users to support an increased number of users in the same band. A new variable step size LMS algorithm is presented and compared with various blind and trained adaptive algorithms for WiMAX access networks. WiMAX broadband wireless data networks provide us a new generation broadband wireless connectivity across fixed, nomadic, and eventually mobile platforms featured with precision beam pattern steering to support the evolving high speed data networks.
