Abstract :
The purpose of this research is to develop a standard preparation method of Membrane Electrode Assembly (MEA). Therefore, preparation method of MEA and transformation of the characteristic deterioration of a polymer membrane by heating and pressurizing were studied. As the result, power density was improved by improvement of diffusibility of gas by Gas Diffusion Layer (GDL) of 2 layers (duct side· carbon paper, catalyst layer side· carbon cross). As solution of problems of thin polymer membrane, reduction of cross leak gas by multi catalyst layer and improvement of power density was confirmed. Moreover, multi catalyst layer which considered a rate of reaction was examined similarly. The best pressure of hot press was 7.5MPa by analysis of heat deterioration of Nafion212 by Electron Spectroscopy for Chemical Analysis (ESCA). In addition, the best temperature of hot press was 130°.
