  • Abstract
In order to incorporate enterprise management and control, seamless integration of information and control network is demanded. In this paper, Modbus/TCP and industrial switches based network control system is proposed for the water process in a firepower plant. The Modbus/TCP industrial Ethernet protocol was analyzed. The network structure and communication mode were investigated. In addition, the network delay was analyzed, which is of the importance in the real-time industrial control field. The system was realized in water process system of the firepower plant. The proposed control system is reliable and the network´s celerity is satisfied after running six months. The system´s successful application indicates the importance of industrial Ethernet in the dispersal process control field
