Abstract
Two kinds of optical access networks in a cellular system are introduced in order to simplify the base station and reduce the cellular scale. The CDMA technique could be used to suppress the interference of both nonlinearity products in subcarrier multiplexing (SCM) and optical frequency shift in wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) systems. Based on the performance analysis result for a SCM-CDMA system, several considerations on designing this network are given
