Abstract :
This paper considers a simple model for hard-decision parallel interference cancellation in a code-division multiple-access (CDMA) system. Because practical systems will experience timing errors the effect of timing errors needs to be analyzed. Previous work in this area has relied heavily on simulation techniques. By analyzing statistical characteristics of residual multiple access interference, we obtained an analytical expression for the probability of bit error in hard-decision parallel interference cancellation with timing error. Analytical results are shown to agree well with simulation
