Abstract
Two simple back-off based fragment adaptive algorithms for improving the throughput of IEEE 802.11 wireless LAN are proposed and studied. The simulation results show major improvement in channel throughput and reduction in system end-to-end delay. The results also indicate that proposed adaptive fragmentation algorithms perform the best when the channel is very noisy
