Abstract :
This paper studies interleaved buck converters using a switching rule based on a winner-take-all (WTA) principle. The system can realize multi-phase synchronization automatically: it enables us to realize ripple reduction of the output current and high tolerance for subsystem failure. Using the piecewise constant model, we clarify parameters conditions for existence and stability of the synchronous states. The simple test circuit is presented and typical synchronous phenomena are verified in the laboratory.
