  • Abstract
We can regard the planar figure as the complex valued function. We analyze a line figure by analyzing the complex function instead of processing it directly. The complex function is assumed to be periodic in this theory. We describe similarity of contour figure by using the cross correlation of the complex valued functions which represent the contour figures. The similarity is invariant to the size and rotation. The sequence of similarities is calculated from the object whose shape is dynamically varying. The motion of object is analyzed by the sequence of similarities. This method is discussed theoretically and the experiment is reported. In the experiment, the sequence of similarities is calculated and the rotation of object is detected. We analyzed the motion of object by the similarities to the various contour figure
