Abstract
Performance measures for a class of continuous phase-coded spread-spectrum systems are considered. The error probability can be evaluated if the distributions of the multiple-access interferences (MAI) are available. A method of characterization is used to obtain the conditional distributions of random variables that characterize the MAI given the time delays. Then, these conditional distributions are used to compute vectors, which allow the average bit-error probability to be computed with arbitrary accuracy. The class of systems possesses beneficial spectral properties and a good multiple-access capability
