Abstract :
The author has been involved in the planning and implementation of hundreds of microwave links for various AT&T Business Units. Planning a good, stable and reliable microwave network can be quite challenging. At the same time, it poses several interesting optimization problems. The motivation behind this paper is to introduce these problems to the “optimization world” by mathematically formulating them so that these problems could be solved by interested researchers and hence planning of microwave networks could be easier in the times ahead
