Abstract :
A polymer-based wavelength division multiplex (WDM) filter based on multimode interference for 1.31/1.55- mum bi-directional operations has been proposed and demostrated. The polymer WDM filter in poly methyl methacrylate (PMMA) was fabricated by the hot embossing technique. For the 1.31 and 1.55-mum, the measured insertion losses were 8.2 and 9.7-dB, and optical contrasts were 18.2 and 25.8-dB, respectively.
