Abstract
Analyzing the performance and power of Mobile Internet Devices (MIDs) is important for academia and industry as well as for consumers. It is important to assess the performance-per-watt associated with a typical workload on MID devices so that applications and hardware can be optimized to reduce performance bottlenecks and power consumption. In this paper, we present an analysis of the performance and power consumption of MIDs under a typical workload. We also present a prediction model and performance-per-watt analysis. The analysis is based on results obtained with a benchmark developed to assess performance and power of MID devices using typical usage modules.
