Abstract :
A 24 GHz modular phased array based on extended resonance technique is presented in this paper. Extended resonance technique eliminates the need for separate power divider and phase shifters in the conventional phased arrays. This technique is used along with heterodyne mixing concept in the design of the presented phase array. Furthermore, a modular approach is utilized in the design of the phased array to significantly reduce the design complexity associated with large phased arrays. As a proof-of-principle, the seven-element 24 GHz is implemented and the measurement result is presented.
