Abstract :
While the effects produced by a periodic arrangement of radiating element (lattice) within a common aperture are generally well known, the characteristics of reordered lattices is considerably less common. A canonical study of reordered lattices reveals interesting and useful far-field phenomena, particularly in the ability to decorrelate the grating lobes. The study shows that an Archimedes spiral lattices is one of the most effective in this regard, even if it raises new challenges in the design.
