Abstract :
This paper proposes and investigates a spread spectrum (SS) system which can realize both ranging and communication between a vehicle and a roadside. In order to improve the performance of ranging and communication, we propose schemes for cancelling the mutual interference between a SS ranging signal and SS communication one. Computer simulations illustrate improved performance of both ranging accuracy and data bit error rate
