Abstract :
In this study, a doubled Q-switched Nd:YAG laser which has high peak power and lower thermal effect than that of a continuous wave laser, was employed to investigate the damage of tumor cells. As a photosensitizer, zinc coproporphyrin III (Zn CP-III) was prepared. Active oxygen from the photosensitizer was detected by method of luminol chemiluminescence at 430 nm-wavelength. Viability of human small cell carcinoma (MS-1) against the irradiation time, the concentration of Zn CP-III and the pulse energy was investigated. As the result, Zn CP-III produced active oxygen and cells treated by PDT showed a significant reduction of viability
