Abstract :
The effects of crystallite size and microstrain on the X-ray structural properties of submicron BaTiO3 powders were investigated. A sigmoidal increase in tetragonal distortion from 1.0012 to 1.0099 accompanied by a gradual decrease in microstrain from ~0.3 to 0.05% was observed as the (111) crystallite size increased from 60 to 125 nm. The importance of anisotropy on crystallite size and microstrain analyses is also discussed
