Abstract
This paper presents some of the work of a group of human factors specialists who form the Expanded Task Force on Human Factors (ETF). In a task aiming to review the role of simulators in operator training in various OECD countries, one area was the comparison of current practices in operator training with simulators, using a questionnaire about simulator training design and implementation; trainee assessment and training programme evaluation. The questionnaire was intended principally for completion by training centres and was essentially concerned with training on full-scope simulators. The training opportunities made available by new technology and advances in training were covered by a small number of questions. The answers are summerised
