Abstract :
Much attention is being paid to assessing the reliability of the different NDT techniques employed in industry. However, in the Universities ongoing research is aimed at providing new solutions to both old and new problems. Improved transducers, instrumentation and techniques will have an impact on reliability and will hopefully make significant improvements in this area. The overall aim of this paper is to show some of these new developments related to specific areas and to highlight their advantages for enhancing existing NDT practice. The paper covers aircraft structures inspection, high temperature inspection, and NDT data processing
