Abstract :
The modeling of complex systems always presents challenges when the intention is to predict the systems´ future performance. The mounting number of electrical cars entails growing interest in grid integration and vehicle performance. Modeling will have to address aspects of personal mobility such as vehicle range and availability. A standardized model is needed, which is able to deliver the proper data for other types of simulation, e.g. impacts of high electric vehicle penetration on a distribution grid. A model of electric vehicle performance under development simulates a single electrical vehicle or a vehicle fleet in an electrical network. The model incorporates different battery types´ performance and vehicles´ physical properties as well as different user profiles. The simulation results from the model are also employed to analyze storage performance.
