Abstract :
An algorithm is presented for the estimation of the fundamental frequency of musical sounds. It is based on the well-known dyadic wavelet transform method. Using this method to analysis the Guqin timbre is a brand-new application field. In this paper, we firstly introduced the selection method of wavelet bases and scale. Then the application of dyadic wavelet transform to estimate the fundamental frequency of Guqin is described. And by the experiment, we can see that this method is valid and it can satisfy our requirement.
