Abstract :
Recent progress in research on photonic crystal fiber devices fabricated by air hole control using CO2 laser irradiation technique is reviewed. A method to adjust coupling characteristics of air hole collapsed photonic crystal fiber (PCF) coupler, a wide wavelength band PCF attenuator fabrication, and a method to reduce splice loss between a conventional single-mode fiber and a high nonlinear PCF are described.
