Abstract :
A leaky wave circular dielectric rod antenna with periodic transverse conducting strips and an TE propagating wave is analyzed using a Galerkin solution in the Fourier domain. The effect of the frequency on the angle of the main beam and the attenuation constant is investigated in a wide band. The effects of the structural parameters; the dielectric constant, the rod radius, the strip width and the period length are considered. The use of double strips in each unit cell is examined to enhance radiation in the broadside direction
