Abstract
The gigantic volume of web content forces people to rely on machines to help to search for their required information. Nowadays, although the search engine can be widely used to retrieve information, but which is neither complete nor accurate, its essential reason is that the semantics of web content can´t be understood absolutely by machine. Semantic Web is considered as a straightforward solution to solve this problem. The implementation of the Semantic Web requires the widespread availability of semantic annotations for existing and new documents on the existing Web. For this reason, a Multi-ontologies Aided Semantic Annotation Model (MASAM) is proposed and a related prototype system named as MASAS (Multi-ontologies Aided Semantic Annotation System) is designed. The experimental results show that the proposed model and the corresponding algorithm are feasible and effective.
