  • Abstract
An adaptive controller is designed for implementing missile formation keeping when information given by the leader in formation is unavailable. Based on the relative motion relationships of a missile formation in the inertial space, a full state feedback proportional-derivative (PD) controller is designed for achieving missile formation keeping under the persistent information of the leader. However, in some realistic applications, there is high possibility that the information of the leader may be unavailable, while missile formation keeping is still required. Considering the change in information sharing as a model uncertainty upon the ideal model, an adaptive control method is proposed to adapt the change of system properties by synthesizing the system parameters and outputs. The detailed parameters of the adaptive controller are pursued through a Lyapunov stability criterion. Simulation results demonstrate the validity of the designed adaptive controller.
