Abstract :
In this paper, we propose an elastic public VPN service model purely on the basis of cloud computing services. This VPN service is a SaaS styled service provided mainly to Small-and-Medium-Sized companies with a “pay as much as used” policy. Compared to traditional dynamic VPN solutions, in the basis of elastic and inexhaustible cloud resources, this model has the possibility to truly adjust the resources consumed on the fly after careful evaluation and prediction of the resource usage. In this paper, architecture and designing details of this model are discussed in three different views, and a simple load balancing algorithm is also introduced to adjust the computing resources by need and balance the work load dynamically.
