Abstract :
Discusses a newer technique to reduce EMI involving varying or modulating the clock frequency in a PC. This technique is known as spread spectrum, since the frequency spectrum of the clock is spread over a wider range of frequencies. Spread-spectrum technology has previously been reported to reduce EMI. This paper presents a dual-loop spread-spectrum clock generator (SSCG).
