  • Abstract
Wyner-Ziv video coding is a new paradigm in video coding based on Slepian-Wolf and Wyner-Ziv theorem. Not like standard video codec, Wyner-Ziv video coding estimates motion in decoder in order to simplify encoder. Among many motion estimation methods that already applied, Expectation-Maximization algorithm is the most effective one. This motion estimation algorithm is block based, where all pixels within blocks share common motion probability distribution which leads to less effective side information generation. This paper proposes method to improve motion field into pixel precision using Bicubic interpolation. The proposed method reduces decoding complexity significantly compared to existing WZVC codec with similar RD performance.
