Abstract :
The fractal dimension (FD) is an indicator of the complexity of form, shape or texture of images. Several fractal dimension estimation methods which lead to different results are developed. This paper draws up a survey on FD estimation methods and presents a comparative evaluation between eleven FD estimation techniques belonging to three different approaches namely box-counting, area measurement and fractional Brownian motion.
