Abstract :
A rectangular dielectric resonator on a finite size ground plane is studied using wavelet-based method of moments. By modeling the ground plane and the dielectric resonator as a surface electric current and volume polarization current, respectively, integral equations with free space Green´s function are formulated. The integral equations are converted to a matrix equation based on the conventional method of moments. The matrix equation is then transformed into the wavelet domain using a unitary transformation. In the wavelet domain, some matrix elements are so small that we could assign those elements to zero and the sparse matrix equation is then solved using sparse matrix solver. Some numerical results are presented to show the effect of the ground plane size on the resonant frequency of a dielectric resonator
