Abstract
The paper discusses an analytical framework to support the analysis of the risk of non-fulfilment of committed obligations in Service Level Agreements (SLA´s). On a two-state system, the downtime of a connection on a fixed observation period is modelled for Poissonian arrivals of failures and a few plausible assumptions on repair times. Both cumulative downtime and the number of failure occurrences are modelled.
