Abstract :
The authors have put forward a method to calculate the ground distance of fixed discrete scatterers see Chinese J. Space Science, vol.7, no.1, p.59, 1987. The present paper gives a method for locating moving targets, based on the above method. The only parameters needed are the minimum time delay curve, the echo time delays and the Doppler frequencies of the moving object. The first is provided by a sweep frequency backscatter sounder at the radar site and the others by the HF radar. There is no need to know the ionospheric data at the middle point of the path. It is the object of this paper to present details of the equipment used in these experiments, the theory of the method and results of the analysis of the radical tracks of targets.<>
