  • Abstract
    EUTELSAT, one of the world´s leading satellite operators, manages a network of 15 Ku-band satellites transmitting more than 500 DTH television channels over Europe and Asia. The introduction of digital techniques has triggered a need to review facilities for monitoring television traffic. The current status of the digital television monitoring standard is presented, and it is demonstrated that it does not always respond to the monitoring requirements of network and broadcast operators. This document proposes a new method providing solutions in areas not adequately covered by the standard and describes TESEUS, a new monitoring system developed by EUTELSAT
