Abstract :
Interest in diagnostic monitoring of HV plant has increased dramatically as a result of the ever increasing proportion of plant reaching its design life and beyond. This paper provides results of three different sets of diagnostic tests carried out on six 132 kV cable sealing ends and twelve 132 kV oil circuit breaker (OCB) bushings. The techniques include HV DC overvoltage test, HV AC partial discharge (PD) test, HV AC and mV AC capacitance and loss angle measurements, mV DC insulation resistance (IR) test, dissolved gas analysis (DGA) and moisture measurements
