Abstract
A term virtual capacity layer concerns multilayered model of the network. That kind of models refer to networks compounded of different layers of resources where different topologies in each layer are possible. Virtual capacity (VC) layer describes a network topology which is situated directly above transport layer. This paper focuses on topology of VC layer and its influence on the dimensioning issue defined for multilayered networks involving two layers of resources. Consider core telecommunication network in Poland originated by Polish Telecom as physical transport network, authors examined different network topologies of VC layer for dimensioning optimization problem.
