Abstract :
In this paper we discuss eigenmodes propagating in plasmonic coaxial waveguides of nano-scale dimensions. Plasmonic nano-cables with an elliptic shape of a central rod are proposed. Break of the azimuthal symmetry makes it easier to excite dipole-type modes. We show that waveguides with central rods, having shapes of crossed ellipses, can be used for transfer of optical signals with orthogonal polarizations independently.
