Abstract :
With the intent of taking super-resolution enhancement algorithms from the research laboratory to the desktop, software designed for execution on a Unix workstation has been ported to a personal computer running the Microsoft Windows NT operating system. To substantially reduce the number of computations require by the Bayesian high-resolution video stills (HRVS) algorithm, this technique can be applied to only critical regions within an image sequence. The user friendly software package will allow security, law enforcement, and military personnel to perform image sequence enhancement using their standard office computers without having to invest in engineering workstations. Timing studies demonstrate that the Mirage video enhancement toolkit may outperform its UNIX ancestor on comparably-priced machines
