Abstract
A new high-order basis function method based on the best uniform approximation theory is proposed to the solution of combined field integral equation (CFIE) for two-dimensional perfect electric conductor. The surface current is approximated by Chebyshev series. Under lower discretization than the conventional method of moments (MOM), the new high-order method can analyze the scattering problems of electrically large objects efficiently with higher precision. Numerical results for differently shaped objects have been discussed, and it is shown that the proposed method can reduce computational complexity drastically.
