Abstract
Presents the results of a study into the design of a low cost voice satellite communications terminal for mobiles. The objective is to provide background information to aid the design of a new communications service for land mobiles. The scope of the study is to consider a system providing a basic telephony service for cars, trucks, trains and coaches and to produce an outline design with cost estimates for the mobile Earth station.
