  • Abstract
A review of optical delay lines (SODL) for low coherence interferometry is presented. Special emphasis is given to the present status of the stepped mirrored structure (SMS) - optical light valve SODL. Proof of principle test in a Mach Zhender configuration proved successful in determining the step heights of an SMS with 130um steps. Fabrication of SMS with 10um steps has been attempted, leading to the need to investigate more precise techniques that are currently being developed.
