Abstract :
While using P2P applications to achieve the effective share of various network resources with each other, these P2P users, especially students in campus, have also influenced the normal transmission of other emergent or usual services, such as Web service, etc. These related behaviors result in the network congestion as well. In this paper, a scheme has been proposed to adaptively filter special P2P services, according to different classes through checking application layer. A practical experiment has been conducted in the Chung Hwa School of arts, a senior high school in Taiwan, to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method. Depending on defining the importance of services and the available bandwidth proportion of some special P2P service, the results have shown that this proposed method can function well in this school only by using cost-efficient and free software.
