Abstract :
Near infrared spectroscopy is a novel method to monitor the hemodynamic activity of the brain. Various techniques and devices have been developed to utilize this method in various fields such as neuroscience, neuropsychology, education and training. However, current devices do not enable complete freedom of motion; therefore limit the fields where this technology can be deployed. In this paper, a prototype wireless continuous wave near infrared imager is described. The aim of this design is to produce a miniaturized, wearable, affordable, negligibly intrusive system that can monitor hemodynamic response during cognitive activity.
