Abstract :
The author describes a current differential protection which is being developed on a microprocessor based modular format. The concept is to provide a flexible protection which can be built up from a standard range of modules and with suitable software can be tailored to suit a wide variety of applications from EHV power transmission down to power distribution. By suitable choice of modems, a wide range of communications media can be exploited depending on availability for a particular application
