Abstract :
A 43-45Gb/s clock and data recovery circuit is presented. It uses half-rate architecture with a binary phase detector based on low-voltage latch and multiplexer topologies. The circuit was implemented in a SiGe technology with fT = 120GHz. It demonstrates a 600 MHz locking range and consumes 650mW from a 2.5V power supply. The chip measures 1.25mm2 and requires no external components.
