Modeling and simulation of wireless sensor networks for event detection

Event detection in wireless sensor networks represents one of the major applications that such networks support. Event detection involves the modeling and simulation of the wireless sensor network. This paper presents a survey of methods of simulating and modeling wireless senor networks, as well as available software for this purpose. All the topics are evaluated and compared.
