Abstract
The authors examine the implications of international private networking from the perspective of a leading UK supplier of networking PBX products, and seek to highlight some of the issues, both technical and regulatory, that must be addressed if the full potential of international networking is to be realised. They address four of these issues, namely signalling, regulatory considerations, network management, and Centrex/virtual private networking, as well as identifying some of the other issues which will in due course have to be considered in their international context
