Abstract :
In this paper, the human interactive ability to use force control devices under sitting and standing postures was investigated. Subjects were asked to test a force input device which had 10 different target levels representing consecutive force ranges (0 to 4N) with visual feedback (number and bar graphs) in each of two postures. The experimental results indicate that no significant difference was found between the sitting and standing postures in mean performance time. The experimental results also show that the medium force levels were significantly better than both low and high force levels.
