Abstract :
In the future UMTS system (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System) one modulation technique which performs well in microcellular as well as macrocellular environments would clearly be attractive. In this paper, novel variable-envelope modulation schemes which attempt to combat the problems of current constant-envelope techniques have been examined. Performance for these schemes has been extensively evaluated for a range of receiver architectures
