Abstract :
In non-cooperative networks ISP and consumers make control decisions that optimize their individual performance measure. ISP makes the rules and the consumers select their consumption modes accordingly. Two different bandwidth allocation (BA) strategies guaranteeing the quality of service (QoS) based on the demand information of the consumers were proposed: one was based on customers´ utility maximization, and the other one was based on ISP´s revenue maximization. At last, the effects of different BA strategies on the ISP´s revenues and customers´ benefits and system equilibrium were analyzed
