Abstract :
A new handover scheme which can be used in virtual connection tree (VCT)-based wireless ATM networks is presented. In the new scheme, calls within the VCT which can cause loss of ATM cells or delay or overload on base stations are rejected. The scheme utilizes the full capacity of VCT. Performance evaluation of the scheme is presented through analytical and simulation results obtained with a simulation model of a four-cell nonhomogeneous system
